Consisting of Freedom for Children Foundation of Turkey (Youth Re-autonomy Foundation of Turkey-TCYOV), FİSA Child Rights Centre, and Dr. Emrah Kırımsoy as researcher, worked on their field diagnosis titled 'Right to Education of Incarcerated Children: An Assessment on Violations of Access to Formal Education in Türkiye'. The study examined the access of children in detention to formal education, based on the 4A framework (availability, accessibility, acceptability, and adaptability), within the context of international human rights standards, national legislation, and existing practices. It highlighted structural gaps and systemic challenges, noting that children held in adult-oriented institutions, particularly girls, face more severe rights violations. The findings contributed to monitoring efforts and provide evidence-based recommendations to improve access to education for incarcerated children, including measures to ensure the provision and protection of this right beyond detention settings.
